The year 2016 marks a time of increased optimism in HIV treatment and prevention. Worldwide, people are beginning to envision a possible end to AIDS. The San Francisco community has set a high bar by pledging to be the first city in the United States to achieve “Getting to Zero: zero new HIV infections; zero HIV deaths; and zero HIV stigma.” This report looks at the most recent HIV surveillance data from San Francisco and offers an analysis on our progress towards Getting to Zero.
