Description:
Mentoring the Managers is a cohort-based, online learning program for managers in Health Departments designed to support new and emerging managers at state, local and territorial health department as they step into leadership roles. Through practical tools, peer learning, and real-world scenarios, participants will strengthen their supervisory skills, navigate common management challenges, and build confidence to lead with clarity, empathy, and purpose. This 100-day program includes synchronous and asynchronous components and will run from September 2025 through February 2026.
Who is it for?
We welcome all early-career health department managers (1–3 years) who are passionate about public health, eager to grow their leadership skills, and committed to mentoring the next generation of public health professionals.
We support new and emerging managers by fostering community, strengthening leadership capacity, and providing practical tools to help them lead with clarity and effectiveness. Our approach emphasizes inclusive access, peer connection, and honest dialogue to navigate leadership transitions and organizational change with resilience and support.
