Stepping into Leadership: Managing for Growth and Impact in HIV Prevention
Mentoring the Managers (MtM) is a free, virtual, cohort‑based, 10‑session program designed for early‑career HIV prevention managers in state, local, and territorial health departments. Facilitated by national experts in HIV prevention and leadership development, the program uses practical tools, peer learning, and real‑world scenarios to help participants build supervisory skills, navigate common management challenges, and strengthen their confidence as leaders. MtM takes place during work hours from June 2026 to November 2026.

We welcome all early-career health department managers (1–3 years) who are passionate about public health and ready to strengthen their leadership skills.
We support new and emerging managers by fostering community, strengthening leadership capacity, and providing practical tools to help them lead with clarity and effectiveness. Our approach emphasizes inclusive access, peer connection, and honest dialogue to navigate leadership transitions and organizational change with resilience and support.
