SFDPH’s PrEPMate Becomes a CDC EBI!

In early July 2020, the CDC listed PrEPMate on its Compendium for PrE-Exposure Prophylaxis Best Practices. So far in 2020, there have been only 3 new PrEP interventions listed on this CDC website.

PrEPMate is a mobile health intervention that was shown to improve PrEP adherence in young, HIV-negative MSM of color. The intervention included daily reminder messages to take the pill and weekly check ins to see how participants were doing with the medication. PrEPmate was shown to be more effective in keeping participants adherent to PrEP than standard care. Check out the listing and intervention description below!
